About us

Lutheran Media Ministry Uganda [LMMU] is a Christ centered Outreach office of the International Lutheran Laymen's league working in Partnership with the Lutheran Church Mission in Uganda. It is one of the Ministry Center offices of the International Lutheran Laymen's league. The International Lutheran Laymen's league, with its Lutheran Hour Ministries brings the gospel of Christ to millions in North America and worldwide in over 42 International offices. Over 50 million people listen to Lutheran Hour Ministries broadcasts in more than 40 languages.

LMMU was founded in November 1996 at Jinja found in the Eastern part of Uganda. The head office is located in Kampala along Kansanga Ggaba Road and employs 8 individuals and an army of volunteers who serve the respondents to its programming. The Ministry is governed by a board of 8 directors.
Mandate:

Its mission is “to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ to all people through various forms of media and linking them to the Church.”

Ministry Objectives:

  • To produce Contextual Christian Program on Radio and Television for Media Outreach.
  • To distribute out Bible Correspondence Course lessons to people with the aim of enabling them grow spiritually.

  • To coordinate Media activity with the ongoing Ministry of the churches in Uganda particularly the Lutheran Church Mission in Uganda.
  • To respond to social, physical and moral needs of people within the context of its Ministry
  • To distribute Christ centered materials to people who yearn for Spiritual nourishment.
  • To equip and engage committed and practising Lutherans for proclamation.
